Over a decade of watching the same injuries happen. Then deciding to stop them earlier.
We are a family-owned exercise physiology business in the Hunter and Lake Macquarie region. We help organisations find injury risk early, act on it properly and keep people at work.
Fewer injuries, shorter claims, clearer decisions.
Reduce injuries and claims
Find where injury risk is building in your tasks and workforce, and act before it becomes lost time.
Keep people working
Early intervention and return-to-work support that matches duties to real capacity.
Give leaders clear evidence
Show what injuries cost, where risk is concentrated and which controls are working, so investment follows risk.
Prevention comes first. Every program we build starts by finding the risk before it becomes an injury, not by treating it afterwards.
Treatment taught us the pattern. Prevention is the response.
Peak Physiology started as an injury treatment and rehabilitation practice. Years of return-to-work consults, suitable duties plans and injury management coordination across industrial sites in the Hunter made one thing obvious: the same tasks, the same shoulders and the same ageing profiles were producing the same injuries, site after site, year after year.
Treating an injury well is worthwhile work, but it is downstream work. The workers we saw in clinic had usually been carrying risk for months or years before it became a claim, whether that was poor task design, fatigue or a prior injury that was never properly resolved.
That is the shift Peak Physiology has made: from a practice that is good at managing injuries to one built to stop them happening in the first place. We still do the clinical work, including rehabilitation, return to work and injury management, because organisations need both. Prevention is where we have put the research, the tooling and the effort.
We don’t sell a program because it’s what we have. We sell it because we watched the alternative cost someone their shoulder.Brock McInerney, Founder and Director
What stands behind the work.
Energy, utilities, construction and logistics
Programs delivered inside power stations, utilities facilities and heavy-industry sites, including a multi-year workforce transition health strategy and manual handling and injury prevention programs across complex multi-site operations.
PhD candidate, University of Sydney
Active research into musculoskeletal injury screening in hazardous manual-task workforces (PROSPERO CRD42024531748): a 32-study systematic review, a retrospective cohort from a large utility, and a prospective feasibility study underway. What we learn feeds back into how we run assessments and design programs on site.
Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP), ESSA
The peak clinical qualification in exercise-based injury prevention and rehabilitation in Australia, applied for over a decade across clinical and industrial settings.
SIRA-approved Accredited Exercise Physiologist
Brock McInerney holds individual SIRA approval. Peak Physiology runs workplace programs under a documented governance approach: audit-first, human-in-the-loop, and no automated fitness-for-work determinations.
Three things we will not compromise on.
Nothing sold on a hunch
Every claim about risk or outcome is sourced to published claims-cost data, our own tracked results or the research literature. If the evidence is soft, we say so.
We tell you what we saw
A site visit is not a sales pitch dressed as a report. If your highest-risk task is the one nobody has mentioned in three years of toolbox talks, that goes in the debrief.
Family-owned, no template
We are not a franchise applying one program to every client. Each engagement is built around your tasks, your workforce and your claims history.

Brock McInerney
Father of three, based on Lake Macquarie. Over a decade across clinical exercise physiology and operational health roles inside the energy sector, including consulting work across coal, gas and renewables assets.
Currently a PhD candidate at the University of Sydney, researching how musculoskeletal injury risk can be screened in hazardous manual-task workforces: the same problem Peak Physiology’s programs are built to solve on the ground.
The same approach works for individuals.
Workplace injury prevention is where we have put most of our time, because one visit can change outcomes for forty people instead of one. It sits on a simpler belief: people do better when they are not carrying pain or injury they did not have to. That is why we also build exercise physiology programs for individuals, whether they are rehabilitating an injury or getting back into training.
